Our Team

Samantha St. Marie

Samantha graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York summa cum laude in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in History. Samantha has a passion for research, data collection, and tax preparation. Samantha currently lives in Rutland with her husband, Andy, who is a history teacher at Burr and Burton Academy.

Credentials

An Enrolled Agent is an individual who has earned the privilege to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. The credential is obtained by passing a three-part comprehensive IRS exam covering individual and business tax returns or through experience as a former IRS employee. Enrolled Agents are required to complete 72 hours of continuing education credits every three years. Enrolled agents are federally authorized tax professionals and can practice in any state.

Community Involvement

For the 2020 Tax Season, Samantha volunteered at the Rutland AARP TaxAide site to assist low- to moderate-income Americans file their taxes at no cost. During the 2018 Tax Season, Samantha joined the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) through Union College to help low- to moderate-income residents file their taxes at no cost. From 2014 to 2018, Samantha volunteered at RRMC as a high school student. The teen program is where she first met Dave.

Dave Dress, EA

Dave attended the University of Arizona. Dave has an extensive background in data processing. In 1994, he turned his love for numbers into Quill & Keyboard Accounting. Since moving to Rutland, Vermont with wife Bobbie, Dave has been an active member of the community. He still completes some individual tax returns every year on behalf of family and close friends.

Community Involvement

For the past twenty years, Dave has volunteered at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He has mentored countless teen volunteers in the evenings during the week. One of Dave's favorite things to do during downtime in the volunteer office is quiz the teen volunteers on various current event topics.
